Overview

This one-day course is aimed at workers in the construction, maintenance, refurbishment and related trades, who may work with asbestos containing materials. The course includes information on the non-licensed Task Manual published by the HSE, and practical exercises.

Topics Covered:

The topics covered include Asbestos Essentials: Task Manual (HSG210) for building, maintenance and allied trades on non-licensed asbestos work.

The course also covers our local Asbestos Licensing (Jersey) Regulations 2008

In order to attend this course you must have completed an Asbestos Awareness Course and present your certificate beforehand.

We recommend that face fit testing is booked at the same time as this training course due to the legal requirements for working with asbestos.

Non-licensed contractors require refresher training at least annually according to the HSE. As the training does not need to be from scratch, we can tailor the course to the employees’ roles and needs.

TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical work. You will be assessed through the day culminating in theory questions. All of our trainers are accredited.

This courses can normally accommodate 6 candidates depending on the course and level of experience.

As with all of our courses, we ask if the candidates can read and understand English. We can provide a translator for the entire course or just for the theory if necessary, but there is an extra charge and we need to know this at the booking stage.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATION

Upon successfully completing the course you will be awarded a 4Safety certificate.
